Is it possible to reconstruct Thylacine DNA even with a bad DNA sample?

I know they discontinued the thylacine cloning project, but I was wondering if there would still be a way to reconstruct the DNA sequence. Maybe with like an algorithm or something to restore the DNA sequence.
