In Ontario Canada am i allowed to patrol the neighborhood with a flashlight to deter crime?

Well... i guess that would be up for interpretation. sure you could, as long as your not disturbing other people... say flashing lights in windows in the middle of the night. And as long as your not acting suspicous and getting mischeif calls to the police.. As some people might be scared of some random person walking through the neighborhood with a flashlight at night ? Best bet is to let that neighborhood know what you will be doing (Go door to door during the day to let them know what your trying to do) This will get you further.
